Our Philosophy
Junior Academy of McKinney, Inc believes that children are entitled to be educated in a safe and happy environment.
We promote positive psychologically-oriented programs as our goal is to guide and direct the children as they transition from each stage of their development. It is our goal to prepare each child to enter the first grade fully prepared as they begin their formal academic instruction.
Our program encourages parental and community partners in the development and education of the children.
About the Owner
Christina Bates has been owner and Director of Turkey Creek Junior Academy in Central Texas for thirteen years. She brings her passion for early childhood education to Junior Academy of McKinney, Inc.
Her Bachelor's Degree in Business and Fashion Design from Tarleton University was completed in 1987. Christina completed her Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration from Jones University and she has recently completed her Doctorate in Psychology at Southern California University of Professional Studies.
Christina's strong desire to provide a safe, happy environment for the children is fueled by focusing on positive emotions and strengths-based character promoted by Dr. Martin Seligman, founder of Positive Psychology.
